Job Description

Latham Centers, Inc. is a respected organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with complex special needs through compassionate care and support. Established as a leading service provider in the field of residential and educational services, Latham focuses on nurturing the health and well-being of its community members. The organization is well-known for its inclusive and ethical approach, ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their backgrounds or abilities. Latham's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in its non-discriminatory policies related to employment, admissions, and treatment of the individuals it serves.

As a Chef at Latham Centers, you will be an essential part of a mission-driven team that prioritizes preparing nutritious and wholesome meals tailored to the unique dietary needs of students with complex special needs. This role is not just about cooking but about supporting the overall health and quality of life for these individuals through mindful nutrition. You will engage with students and staff collaboratively to create a positive and welcoming dining experience daily. The Chef position offers a fulfilling opportunity for both seasoned kitchen professionals and those eager to grow within a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In this hands-on role, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing and serving balanced breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks according to carefully established menus that meet medical and dietary guidelines. You will also be tasked with meal planning that accommodates special dietary requests and nutritional requirements. Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and well-organized kitchen environment is paramount, as is managing inventory, storing food correctly, and safely rotating deliveries to ensure freshness and safety.

You will work in close partnership with a collaborative multidisciplinary team, including educators and clinical staff, reinforcing a cohesive approach to supporting individuals’ health and well-being. The scope of the role also extends to providing direct care and support to students when needed and participating actively in team meetings and kitchen collaboration efforts. Latham offers generous benefits such as paid time off, top-tier health insurance plans—where a significant portion of deductible costs is covered—the opportunity for tuition reimbursement, childcare support, and retirement fund matching. Housing options may be available based on availability and organizational provisions.

Joining Latham Centers as a Chef means more than just a job—it means contributing to a cause that positively impacts lives every day. This role merges culinary skill with compassionate service, fostering an environment where your work will be meaningful and valued. If you have a passion for cooking with purpose and want to leverage your talents in a role that supports individuals with special needs, Latham Centers invites you to build your career with them, creating nutritious meals that nourish both body and heart.
