The Cook position at Sodexo, located at Lewis University, is a full-time role with a pay rate of $19 per hour. This job requires flexibility in workdays and shifts, with a preference for open availability, and involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. The Cook is responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of fresh hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods and special events, adhering strictly to Sodexo’s culinary standards concerning quality, taste, presentation, and safety. Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Ensure significant walking or other means of mobility
  • Walk or stand for extended periods of time throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
  • Reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
