As a Cook at Aramark, you will be at the heart of culinary creativity and food preparation excellence. This role involves cooking and preparing a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, all while operating in a safe and health-conscious environment. In this position, your responsibilities will include setting up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment, preparing ingredients by measuring, chopping, mixing, and trimming, and safely using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. You will utilize multiple cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meats, vegetables, and other dishes. The role also requires you to arrange and garnish food according to established company guidelines and ensure proper storage by adhering to strict food safety policies.

Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils is a critical part of the job, as is providing excellent customer service with a positive demeanor towards guests, clients, coworkers, and more. You will also be expected to strictly follow Aramark’s safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation protocols, and ensure the security of company assets. The role may require physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing or walking, and it involves using personal protective equipment and uniforms.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
