Job Description
We are a well-established institution dedicated to providing high-quality food services in a healthcare or residential care setting. Our organization prides itself on delivering nutritious, palatable, and well-balanced meals that cater to the daily nutritional and special dietary needs of each resident. We foster a friendly and supportive work environment guided by a great leadership team, which encourages employee appreciation and growth. Our employees benefit from competitive pay, including a $1,000 sign-on bonus for full-time cooks, as well as an extensive benefits package comprising comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, voluntary insurance options, a 401k plan, paid time off (PTO), holiday pay, and opportunities for pay in lieu of benefits. Additionally, our team enjoys regular employee appreciation events that enhance workplace camaraderie and morale.
The role of Cook within our organization is integral to our commitment to excellence in food service. The position involves preparing meals that meet the nutritional guidelines while ensuring meals are appealing and meet the individual needs and preferences of our residents. Cooks are responsible for handling, storing, and disposing of raw and prepared food items in compliance with company policies and stringent state and federal regulations. Following production schedules and standardized recipes developed by Registered Dietitians, Cooks prepare food alternatives to accommodate resident choices, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The role also requires maintaining clean and safe work environments, including kitchen equipment and workspaces, in accordance with facility policies and health regulations.
This position may also involve assuming responsibilities related to opening and closing kitchen operations. Moreover, individuals in this role may be designated as a Lead for Food Service Aides during the absence of the Manager or Assistant Food Services Manager, potentially assisting with performance evaluations and supporting the team’s operational functions. The Cook position is best suited for individuals who are comfortable working in an institutional kitchen environment and can manage physical tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and exposure to various workplace conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Our establishment highly values experience in institutional food service settings and prefers candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent. This role is an excellent opportunity for cooks seeking to advance their careers within a stable facility that values employee well-being and offers a comprehensive benefits program. We invite dedicated culinary professionals to join our team and contribute to a work culture that is both fulfilling and engaging, delivering quality service to those we care for with pride and professionalism.
