The Cook position at Sodexo located in Fannie Mae, Plano, offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that prioritizes delivering high-quality culinary experiences in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This full-time role involves morning shifts on weekdays with competitive pay ranging between $18 to $19 per hour. As a Cook, you will be instrumental in preparing, cooking, portioning, and presenting a diverse variety of hot and cold foods in accordance with Sodexo's stringent culinary standards. You will ensure each dish meets defined criteria for quality, presentation, and consistency across all meal periods and special events.

In this role, precision and efficiency are key as you work with established recipes and adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment. The role demands physical stamina including the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and handle moderate physical lifting. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • basic knowledge of food-handling procedures
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • physically able to stand or walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to perform repetitive motions
  • punctual and reliable
  • able to work weekdays morning shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience
  • knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • good working knowledge of food preparation
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment
  • ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties

  • Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs
  • taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
  • maintain mobility through significant walking or other means
  • stand or walk for extended periods exceeding 8 hours
  • reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • perform repetitive motions
  • attend work regularly and show up on time for scheduled shifts
  • perform other duties as assigned by business or client needs
