Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • ServSafe certification required at hire or within 120 days of 01/01/2026
  • Two years recent relevant experience
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment including proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to instruct and functionally supervise the activities of other employees
  • Possess written and verbal communication skills to communicate with team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills including prioritizing assignments and working within standardized policies and procedures
  • General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Work independently as well as part of a team including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and corporate objectives

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and present food for patients, staff, visitors, and catering functions
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure food quality and accuracy
  • Instruct and functionally supervise other employees performing similar duties
  • Maintain general sanitation, including cleaning and storing dishes, utensils, and pots
  • Disinfect work areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors to gain cooperation and support
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure sanitation and safety
