The company fosters a culture of respect and belonging, ensuring that every employee is valued, their ideas are heard, and their personal growth is supported.
Located at Creighton University, Sodexo is currently seeking a part-time Cook to join their dynamic culinary team. The hourly pay range for this position is $12.50 to $16.75, depending on experience and shift availability. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about preparing high-quality meals. Shifts vary, and while open availability is preferred, more specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview. Sodexo encourages university students, including international students, to apply through their respective student worker programs if they have restrictions on working hours.
As a Cook at Sodexo, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Your main responsibilities include preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a diverse array of hot and cold foods across multiple meal periods and events. Following Sodexo's stringent culinary standards, you'll ensure every dish satisfies quality, presentation, and consistency criteria. This role demands strict adherence to all federal, state, and corporate food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Working hours are spent in a fast-paced kitchen setting where maintaining a clean and organized workstation is crucial. Your responsibilities may include following recipes precisely, seasoning and cooking food items, tasting for quality control, and estimating food requirements to support effective production planning. Physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions are inherent to this position.

Employees benefit from a supportive and flexible work environment earned through Sodexo's commitment to employee well-being. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and retirement savings plans. Certain locations may offer additional perks such as free shift meals, safety shoes, uniforms, and transportation support.
Joining Sodexo means being part of a team that operates with a sense of purpose and impact. The company embraces its values of diversity and inclusion, promoting equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics. Sodexo encourages applicants who need assistance with the application process to reach out for support, ensuring that hiring is accessible to everyone. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a high school diploma or GED, previous cooking experience preferred but not required, and a passion for food service excellence.
