The role of the Cook at our restaurant is integral to delivering the quality experience our customers expect. This position involves the preparation and cooking of food, with a central focus on sides and chicken cooked according to specific recipe standards to guarantee taste consistency and safety. The Cook assists with food prep for future service periods, maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and cooking areas, and supports other team members such as cashiers and packline operators to ensure smooth operation during service. This is a nonexempt position that does not involve supervisory responsibilities but requires the individual to be a proactive team player adaptable to a dynamic work environment. The Cook participates in all aspects of food preparation from beginning to end, including managing food waste disposal according to health protocols, keeping inventory stocked with fresh ingredients, and adhering to all company policies and food safety standards.
The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $22 and is classified under at-will employment terms, providing flexibility in the employment relationship. Candidates with prior customer service or cashier experience are preferred, and familiarity with basic computer software such as internet browsing and MS Word is beneficial for completing company training and managing records. This role emphasizes critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while upholding a safe working environment. Those accepted for this position will work without the need for travel, primarily within the restaurant setting, using various cooking equipment such as deep fryers, ovens, and soda machines. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food preparation or cooking desired
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- good teamwork and communication skills
- willingness to follow company policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipe standards
- assist cashier and packline operator

- discard food waste properly
- follow all company standards and procedures to prepare and fulfill orders
- maintain a clean working environment inside and outside the store
- wash dishes during slow periods
- heat or cook side dishes and prep for upcoming service periods
