The Cook position at Sodexo, specifically located at Washington University in St. Louis, is a full-time role with pay ranging from $16.10 to $21.50 per hour. This role involves working afternoon and evening shifts on varying days, including some weekends and holidays, making flexibility crucial. As a Cook, you will play an essential role in preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items for multiple meal periods and events, adhering strictly to Sodexo's culinary standards for quality, presentation, and consistency.

Daily duties include following recipes and product directions, tasting and seasoning food, estimating production requirements, and maintaining production records. Physical stamina is important, as the role requires standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting heavy items.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

- Prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards
- Follow recipes and product directions for cooking and preparing various dishes

- Assist in kitchen teamwork and uphold food safety and sanitation standards
- Perform physical duties including walking, standing, lifting, and repetitive motions
- Attend work punctually and reliably
