The role of Cook within our Dining Services team is a vital position focused on preparing, cooking, and presenting meals that meet our high standards of taste, nutritional content, and attractiveness. This position requires attention to detail, a dedication to food safety, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be directly responsible for reviewing menus and food-production instructions, preparing meals accordingly, and ensuring that all food is properly labeled, dated, and stored. Your duties will include overseeing the setup and preparation of serving carts, following portion-control guidelines, and adhering to sanitation schedules to maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas. A key part of your responsibilities is to monitor and log refrigeration and freezer temperatures as well as production records to ensure compliance with health regulations.

In this role, your focus will be on delivering a pleasant dining experience to our residents by preparing meals that are not only nutritious and delicious but also attractive and served promptly. You will be expected to handle food safe procedures responsibly, maintain accurate logs, and uphold the highest standards of safety and hygiene within the kitchen. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years cooking experience in industry or full-service restaurant setting
  • ability to follow standardized recipes accurately
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • good communication skills in English
  • ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • basic computer literacy preferred

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience in industry or full-service restaurant cooking
  • ability to prepare and follow Holiday recipes
  • effective communication in English and excellent customer service skills
  • general knowledge of and ability to conform to sanitation and safe food handling practices
  • basic computer skills preferred

Job Duties

  • review menus and food-production instructions and prepare meals following Holiday menus and recipes while ensuring portion-control standards
  • oversee preparation and set-up of serving carts to serve nutritious food attractively garnished in a punctual manner
  • follow food safe handling procedures in preparation as well as proper procedures for covering labeling dating and storing food
  • ensure logs are accurately completed in a timely manner including refrigerator freezer and production sheets
  • follow Holiday sanitation standards by effectively cleaning including preparation and serving areas pots and pans kitchen surfaces walls and floors using appropriate cleaning schedules and charts
  • focus on resident satisfaction and resolve any food-compliant issues as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
