The company is currently hiring for the Cook position, an essential role responsible for preparing cooked foods in various kitchen stations including fry, flat top griddle, pantry, and egg cooking stations. The position is hourly paid, ranging from $19.50 to $21.00 per hour. The Cook must have a strong knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards, specifically HACCP compliance. This role requires the ability to manage multiple food preparation tasks, follow recipes precisely, ensure the quality and timing of orders, and communicate effectively with management and serving staff to deliver exceptional food service to customers. In addition to hands-on cooking, the Cook will be responsible for proper workstation sanitation, inventory management, and adhering to safety protocols in a high-volume fast-paced environment. Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
- Experience in high volume and casual dining preferred
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist and stand for extended periods
- Frequent immersion of hands in water and exposure to chemicals
- Frequent use of sharp knives and hot equipment
- Ability to work in hot environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of related cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety practices
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Experience in high volume and casual dining environments preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team and customers
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items including soups, meats, vegetables and desserts
- Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation in compliance with HACCP standards
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment including fryers and griddles
- Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate and check temperatures of products
