The role of Cook at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis invites culinary professionals of all experience levels to join a passionate and talented kitchen team. Cooks prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner items across various outlets in accordance with standardized recipes, quality control, and production requirements. The position necessitates attentiveness to food safety and sanitation standards, operational cleanliness, and precise food preparation to ensure guest satisfaction. Candidates can expect an immersive stage with the Chef to evaluate skills and determine their levels within the Four Seasons standards. Cooks must become proficient in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, ovens, and mixers while ensuring food safety practices including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of perishables. Job Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States unless candidate is currently in a managerial role with another Four Seasons location
  • Current Four Seasons managers may qualify for an L-1 visa sponsorship
  • Minimum of one year culinary or related work experience
  • Servsafe or equivalent certification
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Willingness to comply with Four Seasons’ work rules and standards of conduct

Job Qualifications

  • An accredited Culinary education is preferable but not required with comparable experience
  • A minimum of one year culinary or related work experience
  • Servsafe (or equivalent) certification
  • Passion for all things food and a desire to be the best

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards
  • complete mis en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare beyond estimated needs
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • return all food items not used to designated storage areas, covering/dating all perishables
  • assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems
  • control food waste, loss and usage per policies
  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
