Job Description
Woodside Priory is a distinguished Benedictine school that values community, stewardship, and hospitality. Located on a beautiful, historic campus surrounded by peaceful and well-maintained grounds, the school provides an inspiring and positive work environment. The institution prides itself on fostering a collaborative and uplifting atmosphere where team members support one another, creating a sense of family throughout the workplace. This setting encourages a strong community culture that values respect, teamwork, and a collective commitment to excellence. Woodside Priory is committed to offering a stable and predictable work schedule to help employees maintain a healthy work-life balance. The kitchen at Woodside Priory is much more than just a place to prepare meals; it embodies the school’s core values by emphasizing quality, care, and responsibility in providing nutritious and exceptional meals to its students, faculty, and monastic community.
The Line Cook position at Woodside Priory is an integral role within the kitchen team, responsible for the precise execution of daily menus while maintaining the high standards of food quality and sanitation required by the school. This role involves preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide variety of hot and cold menu items in accordance with established recipes and health standards. A successful candidate will manage high-heat sears, oven finishing, and ensure precise timing during high-volume service windows, demonstrating excellent kitchen skills under pressure. Stewardship of resources is critical, including monitoring inventory, reducing food waste, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation. Collaboration is also key, working closely with prep cooks, utility staff, and stewards to ensure a seamless flow of service. Furthermore, effective communication skills combined with a cheerful attitude are necessary to foster positive interactions with students and fellow team members.
This opportunity offers both full-time and part-time positions with competitive hourly pay rates of $22.00 and $21.00, respectively. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes robust health, dental, and vision insurance plans as well as a 403(b) retirement plan. The full-time schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday with 42 to 45 hours per week, while part-time is Monday through Friday for 25 hours per week. At Woodside Priory, employees not only work in a well-respected and supportive culture but do so in a beautiful setting that enhances overall job satisfaction and wellbeing. Those seeking a culinary career where their work is valued, supported, and fairly compensated will find this role fulfilling and rewarding, with ample opportunities to grow and contribute to the school’s mission and community.
