We are currently seeking a passionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Cook to join our culinary team at one of the most prestigious boutique hotels in Napa Valley. As a Cook within CSG's culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting menu items consistently and creatively while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. The Cook will execute standardized recipes with precision, accommodate guest dietary needs, properly handle and store food items, and help maintain inventory and kitchen cleanliness. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
  • Ability to work in environments exposed to heat, steam, cold storage, wet floors, sharp equipment, and cleaning chemicals
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Cook in a hotel, boutique hotel, restaurant, resort, or similar hospitality environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, cooking methods, and food presentation
  • Understanding of proper food storage, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Positive attitude, professional appearance, and commitment to outstanding guest service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Food Handler Card or equivalent certification, as required by local regulations
  • Culinary school education is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, presentation guidelines, and quality standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared efficiently while maintaining consistency, freshness, and exceptional presentation
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and guest requests whenever possible
  • Properly prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients following established culinary procedures
  • Trim, portion, marinate, season, and store food products using proper food handling techniques
  • Cover, label, date, and rotate all food products to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking kitchen supplies
  • Notify the Chef or Kitchen Manager of low inventory, damaged products, or spoilage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report equipment malfunctions promptly
  • Follow all local health department regulations, food safety standards, and hotel sanitation procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary and front-of-house teams to provide an exceptional guest dining experience
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations
