We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. This position is nonexempt and reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD). The Cook plays an essential role in the kitchen by preparing, cooking, and packaging food products in compliance with our operational and quality standards. You will be responsible for operating various cooking stations, including dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to company policies to maintain food safety and hygiene.
In addition to preparing food, the Cook must perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties. These duties include trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food prep areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease. The position demands regular attendance and flexibility in working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This role requires physical stamina as the work environment involves continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. Exposure to heat and hot liquids during cooking, as well as freezer temperatures when stocking food items, are common conditions. The Cook must also be able to move and stock food products weighing up to 50 pounds safely. Effective communication skills, basic math and reading capabilities, multi-tasking, and the ability to follow directions are necessary to excel in this role. Job Duties
