This position plays a critical role within Sodexo's culinary team, responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items across all meal periods and special events. Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, the Cook maintains clean and organized workstations, supports effective teamwork, and upholds the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
This position demands versatility and dedication, as work shifts vary and open availability is preferred. Cooks must follow recipes, season and taste dishes, estimate food requirements, and maintain accurate production records. Physical stamina is necessary, with requirements to stand or walk for extended periods and to lift or move food products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. The position also requires a keen awareness of food handling regulations and an ability to use kitchen equipment proficiently. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards
- Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records for planning and requisitioning supplies
- Maintain significant walking or other mobility throughout shifts
- Stand or walk for extended periods potentially exceeding 8 hours
- Reach, bend, stoop, push, pull and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
- Attend work punctually and regularly with satisfactory reliability
- Perform other duties as assigned according to business needs and client requirements
