The Cook position at Cedarhurst is a full-time role that requires availability to work days and evenings, reporting directly to the Dining Services Director. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals that align with the community's hospitality and service standards. The Cook plays a vital part in supporting residents’ health and wellbeing by preparing meals that accommodate individual dietary needs, maintaining strict food safety and infection control standards, and ensuring timely meal service at the right temperatures.

Responsibilities include assisting with kitchen organization, supporting the orientation and training of new kitchen team members, and collaborating effectively with the Dining Services Director, kitchen staff, and other departments within the community. This role requires a combination of culinary skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment dedicated to resident-focused care.

In addition to culinary expertise, the Cook must uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance, utilizing skills in food handling, temperature control, and documentation to ensure the highest quality of service. This involves following protocols set by FDA, state, county, and local authorities, as well as Cedarhurst guidelines for infection control.
