Job Description
First Watch is a leading daytime dining restaurant brand specializing in made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Known for its chef-curated menu, the company focuses on using the freshest ingredients available and follows a unique "Follow the Sun" culinary philosophy. This philosophy allows the menu to rotate multiple times per year, ensuring customers enjoy the highest-quality flavors at their peak. The menu features elevated versions of classic favorites alongside innovative options—such as the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowl, and the signature Million Dollar Bacon. First Watch has expanded to more than 630 locations across 32 states, making it one of the most recognized and loved dining concepts in America.
Beyond its culinary excellence, First Watch prides itself on a strong commitment to its employees and their wellbeing through its YOU FIRST culture. This culture ensures employees are prioritized with benefits including no night shifts, allowing for work-life balance, and empowering staff to make independent decisions that enhance the guest experience. The company has been honored as the #1 Most Loved Workplace in America for multiple consecutive years and ranked Best Breakfast by Newsweek’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025. They are deeply committed to community involvement, donating portions of every kid’s meal purchased to causes that make a positive impact in local communities, totaling approximately $2 million to date.
The Back-of-the-House Cook position at First Watch involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on quality and safety. New cooks receive training tailored to their comfort level and skills, allowing individuals to develop within a specific station rather than immediately mastering every kitchen task. The role involves following award-winning chef recipes, maintaining clean and organized stations, and delivering consistent high-quality food. The position requires strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
First Watch offers competitive benefits for its employees, including health, dental, and vision insurance, access to telemedicine services, 401(k) retirement plans, and paid time off. They provide ongoing support and development opportunities such as tuition reimbursement and professional coaching. Employees also enjoy generous meal discounts for themselves and their families, backup child and elder care options, supplemental insurance plans, and wellness perks including access to meditation apps and extensive discount programs. The company encourages diversity and inclusion and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Joining First Watch means becoming part of a vibrant workplace culture that values quality food, employee happiness, and community engagement. It's an ideal opportunity for cooks who are passionate about delivering exceptional daytime dining experiences and want to grow their culinary skills in a supportive and award-winning environment.
