Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With close to 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Restaurant Group is renowned for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while maintaining strong family values. The company deeply values its people, recognizing associates as the heart and soul of their restaurants and the recipe for success. Panda is dedicated to fostering an environment where employees feel inspired to better their lives, thrive professionally, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. They are also firmly committed to equal opportunity employment and comply with all relevant laws ensuring fair hiring practices and workplace accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

The role of Panda Cook is essential to the dynamic and growth-oriented environment within Panda's fast-paced restaurants. Panda Cooks are integral leaders within their kitchen teams, entrusted with preparing food with passion, providing service with heart, and helping create an inviting ambiance filled with pride. This position involves preparing all dishes in compliance with company recipes and standards, thereby ensuring consistent food quality and guest satisfaction. Additionally, Panda Cooks take on leadership responsibilities by guiding kitchen team members, assisting with their training, and performing all back-of-house duties to keep operations running smoothly.

The position requires a dedication to creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for guests, combining culinary skills with leadership abilities and teamwork. Working as a Panda Cook offers opportunities for career growth, including training, ongoing leadership development, and potential advancement into management positions. The company supports its associates with flexible schedules, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits that further elevate the employee experience. Panda Cooks will have hands-on paid training to prepare them for success and access to health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement benefits for eligible associates.

Moreover, Panda Restaurant Group values safety and compliance, requiring employees to meet local and municipal requirements such as Food Handler certification. The work environment involves fast-paced kitchen activities in heated and often noisy conditions, requiring associates to stand for extended periods and handle physical tasks such as lifting and working with kitchen equipment safely and quickly without loss of accuracy. This role is well-suited for individuals who thrive in dynamic, team-centered settings and are passionate about food service excellence.

Joining Panda Restaurant Group means becoming part of a respected organization dedicated to nourishing both its customers and its employees. The company’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement ensures that all associates feel welcome and valued.
