Job Description
HHS, originally founded in 1975 as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, is a private, family-owned business that has cultivated a long-standing tradition of dedication to its team members and a commitment to delivering honest, quality-driven customer service. With decades of experience, HHS has grown to become a trusted provider of comprehensive facility management services. Today, HHS serves nearly 1,000 customers across six industries, offering a broad portfolio that includes housekeeping, food service, and facility maintenance. This extensive experience across varied settings demonstrates HHS's adaptability and unwavering promise to meet the unique needs of each client while fostering a respectful, inclusive working environment.
The culinary team at HHS plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare environments by providing delicious, high-quality food service tailored to the specific requirements of patients, visitors, and hospital staff. The position currently available at Brentwood Meadows highlights this essential role within the company’s operations. Offering both full-time and part-time opportunities, this position provides an hourly pay rate between $16.00 and $17.50 per hour with flexible shift options, including day, evening, and night shifts, creating a work-life balance tailored to the needs of its employees.
The role demands team members who are friendly, compassionate, and cooperative, ready to work under the guidance of the chef or production manager. Cook team members are responsible for preparing meals for patients, retail cafes, and catering events within the hospital setting. Following carefully developed recipes and guidelines, maintaining clean and sanitary work environments, and adhering strictly to health and safety policies ensures the highest standards of food service and consumer safety. This role contributes directly to the well-being of patients and visitors by ensuring nutritious, well-prepared meals are served safely and efficiently.
Additionally, the position requires physical endurance and practical skills, as it involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, along with the safe operation of kitchen equipment. Beyond technical skills, effective communication and teamwork are core to the job, fostering a harmonious work environment conducive to excellent service delivery.
HHS emphasizes a culture of opportunity and growth, encouraging candidates with backgrounds in commercial kitchens, fast food, hotel operations, or healthcare foodservice to apply. The company provides an environment of ongoing training and development, competitive wages, and a variety of employee benefits designed to enhance job satisfaction and promote career longevity. Benefits include paid time off, medical and dental insurance, 401K retirement plans, and disability coverage among others. Employees are required to undergo background checks, drug screens, and verification of employment eligibility, with health protocols including COVID-19 vaccination requirements or approved exemptions where applicable.
HHS also proudly supports and values veterans and candidates with military experience, embracing diversity and inclusion as foundational elements to the workplace culture, and maintaining a commitment to equal employment opportunities.
