Job Description

AdventHealth is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to delivering compassionate and high-quality medical services that promote the health and well-being of each individual. Rooted in Christian values, AdventHealth is committed to extending the healing ministry of Christ by supporting the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. The organization provides a welcoming and inclusive community where employees are encouraged to grow both professionally and spiritually. AdventHealth’s mission-driven approach fosters a collaborative environment, emphasizing employee value and the diverse experiences they bring to the team. This culture of care and excellence helps create a supportive workplace that nurtures the potential of every individual while serving the needs of patients and their families across various locations.

At AdventHealth, the culinary team plays a vital role in supporting patient care through food service excellence. The Food Service Worker role, located in Aurora, Colorado, is a full-time, day-shift position offering a pay range of $19.58 to $31.32 per hour. This position is responsible for preparing patient, retail, and catering meals while ensuring quality, safety, and sanitation standards are rigorously maintained. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the Food Service Worker follows culinary production records for both short-order and batch cooking tasks, helping to deliver nutritious meals in a timely and efficient manner. In addition to meal preparation, the role involves advance preparation duties such as reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients to meet service demands, as well as collaborating with other team members and managers to achieve operational goals.

This position requires a strong knowledge of cooking methods, food safety practices, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, making decisions and multitasking simultaneously. The Food Service Worker maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas, adhering to health regulations and safety guidelines. Additionally, responsibilities include managing inventory through sorting, labeling, and rotating food stock to minimize waste and uphold food safety protocols. The role also demands basic computer competencies, good communication and customer service skills, and the flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays. This role is ideal for those with previous foodservice experience in a large-scale culinary production setting who are dedicated to providing excellent customer care and contributing to a positive work environment.

AdventHealth values its employees by offering comprehensive benefits starting from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, a 403-B retirement plan, full paid parental leave for four weeks, career development opportunities, and resources focused on whole person well-being and mental health support. Employees can also access benefits that extend to their pets, reflecting AdventHealth's commitment to holistic care. This role provides not only a stable and rewarding career in food service within a respected healthcare system but also the opportunity to be part of a larger purpose-driven community focused on healing and wellness, making it a unique and fulfilling opportunity for passionate culinary professionals.
