Job Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License not required
  • Health Card required
  • Food Services Manager Certification within six months of employment

Job Qualifications

  • Less than high school education or equivalency
  • One year experience in quality/quantity cooking
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and simple processes
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen sanitation and safety practices
  • Basic food handling and preparation skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares meals by ordering food for meals, retrieving all needed ingredients, and following standard recipes
  • Sanitizes kitchen supplies by washing the dishes, pots and pans, and various kitchen equipment
  • Organizes kitchen and maintains cleanliness
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations related to food preparation and kitchen sanitation
  • Manages inventory to maintain adequate food and supply levels
  • Collaborates with other staff to coordinate meal schedules and special dietary needs
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors
