This position challenges candidates to utilize their culinary skills in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent communication with supervisors, coworkers, and customers. This is an onsite position with an evening shift from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am and requires flexibility to work rotating weekends. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • One year of food preparation experience required, three years preferred
  • Knowledge of county, state, and federal health and safety codes and regulations related to food service
  • Proficiency in operating commercial food service equipment such as deep fryers, ovens, cooktops, and slicers
  • Ability to read and interpret recipes and apply appropriate cooking methods
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain sanitation and quality standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage time effectively

Job Duties

  • Prepare and produce food and related items for various areas adhering to production standards
  • Follow standardized recipes and complete all required documentation accurately
  • Understand and comply with health codes to ensure customer safety
  • Maintain work areas, kitchen equipment, and food handling procedures to meet safety and health requirements
  • Monitor food rotation and label items according to storage guidelines
  • Communicate food production status to coworkers effectively
  • Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts, fruit cups, and cook-to-order items for retail and patient dining
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors, coworkers, patients, families, and visitors to ensure excellent customer service
  • Provide input to the culinary team on recipe development, menu planning, and food usage optimization
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food preparation and handling
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
