The role of Cook at this restaurant involves preparing, cooking, and packaging food products in accordance with company procedures and high-quality standards. You will be responsible for operating various cooking and food preparation stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, and grill stations. The position requires consistent adherence to all operational policies to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. The cook will perform daily sanitation tasks including disposal of trash, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, wiping down counters, sanitizing areas and equipment, and handling used grease. Regular attendance and reliability are critical to meeting the busy workflows of the restaurant.
Additional responsibilities include reporting any customer or employee concerns to the Manager on Duty (MOD) promptly to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Cooks may also be tasked with moving and stocking food products that can weigh up to 50 pounds, emphasizing the physical nature of the role. Flexibility is key as you may be required to perform various related duties as assigned by management. The work environment involves continuous standing, bending, reaching, and lifting, and employees frequently face heat exposure from cooking as well as cold exposure in freezer areas. Job Duties
- Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
- Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease
- Report customer or employee complaints or issues to MOD
- Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
