Job Description
Legend Senior Living is a respected family-owned company with over 30 years of experience in providing exceptional senior living services. Known for its award-winning status as a Great Place To Work for seven consecutive years, the company is expanding and adding multiple properties annually. Legend Senior Living focuses on creating elegant, supportive communities for seniors, featuring holistic wellness programs, Gold Leaf Dining experiences that emphasize high-quality food and atmosphere, and vibrant Life Enrichment activities designed to enhance residents' quality of life. The company's commitment to excellence is reflected in its various awards, including the Best of Senior Living and Innovative Programming in Senior Living distinctions. This environment fosters not only outstanding care for residents but also a supportive and growth-oriented workplace for associates.
The Cook position at Legend Senior Living is a crucial role within the culinary team, directly impacting residents' well-being by preparing nutritious, appealing meals from scratch using fresh ingredients. This role is ideal for someone who values work-life balance, as it does not require late-night shifts due to the preferences of the residents who eat early. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be organized, flexible, and self-motivated, and takes pride in delivering the highest level of culinary service and professional interactions. Working as a Cook at Legend offers more than just a job – it offers a rewarding career with opportunities for personal and professional development. The company supports its associates with various benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, voluntary benefits, 401(k) with a discretionary match, paid time off, holiday pay, scholarship programs, and performance evaluations with potential raises.
The role involves hands-on assistance with residents' dietary needs, preparation and service of meals according to the menu plan, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in all food-related areas, and adhering to proper labeling and food storage protocols. As part of the culinary team, the Cook helps uphold the Gold Leaf Dining standards that set Legend Senior Living apart from other senior care providers. Additionally, the company promotes a positive workplace culture with associate support resources such as employee assistance programs, continuing education opportunities, crisis care assistance, and family member discounts. There are also bonus opportunities such as employee referrals, employee of the month/year recognition, and participation in resident move-in tours. Aspiring cooks will find Legend Senior Living a place where their dedication to quality cooking and care can flourish, and they can grow within the company alongside hundreds of promoted associates each year.
