Timber Ridge is the East Seattle area's first Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. The community caters to well-traveled seniors who enjoy outdoor adventures, socializing, and embracing the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Residents enjoy an all-inclusive lifestyle where companionship, quality dining, and engaging activities are prioritized to enhance their quality of life.

The Culinary Services/Food and Beverage department at Timber Ridge is currently seeking a reliable, experienced Breakfast Cook to join their team. This role is pivotal in delivering excellent dining experiences to residents by preparing high-quality breakfast meals. The position is full-time, with a schedule from 6 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday. The hourly pay ranges from $23 to $26, reflecting the importance of skilled culinary expertise in this setting.

As a Breakfast Cook at Timber Ridge, you will be responsible for preparing all breakfast food items following standardized recipes ensuring consistent quality and presentation. This includes preparing soups, stocks, sauces, as well as sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked goods. The cook must be meticulous in following recipes and dietary specifications for residents, planning the food production schedule to align with meal times while preserving the excellence, temperature, and visual appeal of dishes served.

This position requires not only culinary skill but also the ability to estimate food supply needs and coordinate timely procurement from storage to support meal preparation. The cook is also expected to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary workstation, while adhering to personal hygiene standards and the department dress code. Continuing education through in-service training is supported to help team members stay current with culinary best practices.

Nestled within Timber Ridge's vibrant community environment, the Breakfast Cook will enjoy working with a passionate team that values both personal and professional growth. The community offers many exceptional employee benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, health savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off inclusive of eight holidays. Additional perks include daily pay options, pet insurance, employee discounts, free meals, free parking, free Lyft rides to and from transit, gym access, shower facilities, pre-paid bus passes, and citizenship application reimbursement.

The physical demands of this role include standing or walking for up to eight hours daily, the ability to bend, stoop, stretch frequently, and safely lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to industrial kitchen equipment, extreme temperatures, and cleaning chemicals is expected. Candidates must communicate effectively, comprehend simple arithmetic for recipe conversions and measurements, and possess at least two years of cooking experience in a comparable setting such as a hotel, restaurant, or club. A basic understanding of English is required for effective job performance.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a respected senior living community where the culinary team helps create a welcoming and nourishing dining experience that is integral to residents' wellbeing and enjoyment.
