The Culinary Associate role at JW Marriott Houston offers a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, located on-site at 5150 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas. In partnership with Rouxbe Culinary School, JW Marriott Houston provides associates with access to hundreds of visually rich, expertly crafted lessons designed to enhance culinary knowledge and practical application on the job. This innovative training opportunity allows associates, regardless of their experience level, to expand their culinary expertise and creatively contribute to the creation of seasonal menus and unique food presentations.
As a Culinary Associate, you will be responsible for preparing fresh ingredients according to recipe specifications, cooking high-quality menu items efficiently, and ensuring the proper preparation, temperature, and presentation of all dishes served. You will be expected to use kitchen equipment safely and responsibly while maintaining hygiene standards by keeping surfaces and storage containers clean. This role demands exceptional teamwork skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive, outgoing attitude—qualities that help foster a productive work environment and enhance guest satisfaction.
The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and remain on your feet for prolonged periods. A clean and professional appearance, including a uniform, is mandatory. Prior to employment, you will complete safety training and certification to ensure you meet Marriott’s high standards for workplace safety. While prior kitchen experience is considered a significant advantage, it is not mandatory.
