The Cook position at Work Lucky is a crucial role that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen during assigned shifts. This role involves general coordination of the lunch, dinner, and graveyard crew kitchen staff, working closely with the Chef, Sous Chef, Lead Cook, and Food & Beverage Lead Person. The Cook is responsible for maintaining consistent, high-quality food preparation and production standards. The position is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about culinary arts and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Current employees earn between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair compensation for skilled kitchen staff. This role not only requires culinary expertise but also excellent organizational and leadership skills to ensure fluid kitchen operations and a positive team dynamic.

Job Requirements

  • A.A degree or technical training or at least one year related experience
  • valid Food Handler Card required by the State of California
  • ability to work assigned shifts including lunch, dinner, and graveyard
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to maintain high standards of food quality and safety

Job Qualifications

  • A.A degree or technical training or at least one year related experience
  • degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is desirable
  • valid Food Handler Card required by the State of California, Health and Safety Code 113790

Job Duties

  • Coordinate lunch, dinner, and graveyard crew kitchen staff
  • work in cooperation with Chef, Sous Chef, Lead Cook, and Food & Beverage Lead Person
