The role of Cook at Anthony's is integral to maintaining the high standards that guests expect. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of menu items with attention to detail and quality. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will help ensure smooth and timely food service while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment are essential qualities for success in this role. The Cook will also contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space to support overall operational efficiency and deliver an exceptional dining experience to every guest.
This is a tipped position, and Anthony's offers full-time employees the option to enroll in medical insurance and a Health Savings Account (HSA) with an average of 25 hours worked per week, while those working 20 hours per week can choose from dental, vision, voluntary life, and pet insurance plans. In addition, all employees are eligible for the company's 401(k) plan after 500 hours of employment, with an annual discretionary match. Job Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to read and speak English to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle kitchen tools and stand for long periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Capability to follow directions from the Head Chef and work collaboratively within a team
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to read and speak English to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Formal culinary training or certification from an accredited institution
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Familiarity with inventory management and food cost control
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently during peak service hours
- Additional language skills to support diverse kitchen teams and customer base
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen including utensils, equipment, and workstations
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate meal preparation and delivery
- Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and moving kitchen supplies
- Monitor food stock levels and report shortages or spoilage to management
