Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in culinary environment preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Read menus, recipes, and review all necessary steps in meal preparation with Food Service Director
  • Prepare all necessary menu items in accordance with established standards
  • Determine quantity of all food needed in meal preparation
  • Follow recipes
  • Ensure that all federal, state, department, and other necessary government agency requirements are met in the preparation of food
  • Ensure all supplies and equipment are kept in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Promote a culture of safety
  • Contribute to an environment that is respectful, team-oriented and responsive to the concerns of co-workers, residents and families
  • Participate in quality improvement activities as requested
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information (HIPAA) at all times
  • Demonstrate organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Exhibit effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Create a resident-centered environment
