Job Description

First Watch is a premier daytime dining restaurant known for its chef-driven menu and commitment to serving the freshest ingredients. Established with a passion for quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch offerings, First Watch has grown to become a beloved dining destination with more than 630 locations across 32 states. The restaurant emphasizes a strong YOU FIRST culture that prioritizes employee happiness and empowerment, reflecting its dedication not only to exceptional food but also to the people who make the dining experience memorable. Employees at First Watch benefit from a supportive workplace environment where they have the independence to make decisions that enhance the customer experience. This culture fosters teamwork, respect, and a shared commitment to excellence in food preparation and service.

The Back-of-the-House team members, including cooks, play a pivotal role in this mission. These team members are valued for their respect for quality food and their attention to detail, treating every plate as if it bore their personal signature. New cooks receive training tailored to their personal skill level and comfort zone, allowing them to develop expertise without feeling pressured to master every cooking technique immediately. The role requires individuals who communicate well, work effectively as part of a team, and are dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe food promptly. Following award-winning recipes and utilizing only the freshest ingredients ensures that every dish meets First Watch's high standards.

First Watch stands out for its innovative "Follow the Sun" culinary philosophy, which involves rotating the menu multiple times per year to showcase seasonal flavors at their peak. Offerings include popular dishes like Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowl, and the signature Million Dollar Bacon, alongside fresh juices like the Kale Tonic. In addition to its culinary excellence, First Watch is deeply committed to community service, having donated approximately 2 million dollars to various social causes through its kid’s meal program.

Working at First Watch means joining a company recognized for its exceptional workplace culture, having been named the #1 Most Loved Workplace in America in recent years by the Best Practice Institute and earning accolades for Best Breakfast and Best Brunch by Newsweek’s Readers’ Choice Awards. The company also complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals and encouraging open discussions about workplace needs.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic work environment that combines culinary creativity, teamwork, and a culture that truly values its employees. Cooks at First Watch are responsible for maintaining clean, organized, and sanitized workstations and ensuring food safety and quality in a fast-paced kitchen. The role also offers a variety of benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and employee assistance programs, emphasizing the company's commitment to employee well-being. First Watch continues to redefine Daytime Dining, making it a fulfilling and rewarding place to build a career.
