The community is currently seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to join its Culinary Services Department. This is a part-time position with a wage of $18.00 per hour, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the nutritional health and enjoyment of senior residents. The Cook role goes beyond simple food preparation. It requires a hands-on approach to producing high-quality meals that comply with nutritional and dietary requirements set by local regulations and internal policies. The Cook will maintain superior standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food presentation while working efficiently to serve menus that appeal to seniors and meet their specialized dietary needs.

Day to day, the Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving menu items with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail, ensuring every meal delivers not only nutritional value but also an inviting appearance and taste. This role also involves interaction with residents, periodically visiting to assess the quality, quantity, temperature, and presentation of food, and making recommendations for improvements to food service. The Cook embodies the community's standards and values by representing the establishment in a warm, inviting manner that fosters a positive marketing environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of one year restaurant or senior living or equivalent cooking experience
  • Ability to work part-time
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
  • Knowledge of nutritional and dietary guidelines
  • Ability to maintain food quality and presentation standards
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience

Job Duties

  • Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
  • Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times
  • Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required nutritional/dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per policy and procedure
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
  • Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature and appearance
  • and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations/procedures to promote improved food service
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner which creates a positive marketing environment
  • Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy
