Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a well-established and highly respected American Chinese restaurant company that was founded in Glendale, California in 1983. It has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with close to 2,800 locations globally. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a workplace environment where team members are inspired to better their lives. Known for embracing family values, Panda Restaurant Group has built its reputation on quality food, effective team collaboration, and a commitment to the communities it serves. As a major player in the restaurant industry, Panda emphasizes not only great food but also strong employee relations and career development opportunities, making it an employer of choice for many seeking growth in the hospitality sector.

In joining Panda as a Cook, you step into a critical leadership role within the kitchen team. The role is anchored in creativity, passion, and precision as you are responsible for preparing food that meets the company’s high standards and recipes. As a vital member of the back-of-house operation, you will play an essential part in creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for guests that goes beyond just food preparation. This position offers a fast-paced and growth-oriented atmosphere where you will actively contribute to the restaurant's success by guiding and training kitchen team members and managing day-to-day kitchen responsibilities efficiently.

In this role, you will be trained and supported to maintain food safety and quality by adhering to local and municipal regulations, including obtaining a Food Handler certification at your own expense if required. The job demands physical stamina to work in a busy kitchen environment that involves standing for long periods, handling hot foods, and utilizing kitchen equipment such as Chinese cook knives safely. Additionally, the job requires good communication and conflict management skills, adaptability to a dynamic workplace, and the ability to work quickly without compromising accuracy.

Panda offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, and other insurance options. Full-time team members may also access health care flexible spending accounts, 401K plans with company match, paid time off including vacation and sick leave, and opportunities for career advancement including leadership development. The company supports a culture of development and community involvement with paid training and referral bonuses available.

Joining Panda as a Cook means becoming part of a company that values diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity. Panda Restaurant Group complies fully with all federal, state, and local laws concerning workplace accommodations and non-discrimination policies, providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. Whether you are an experienced culinary professional or looking to launch your career in the food service industry, Panda provides a supportive and rewarding environment where you can grow both personally and professionally while delivering exceptional dining experiences to customers.
