Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Cook to join our team under the supervision of the Manager on Duty (MOD). The position is classified as nonexempt and involves hands-on food preparation, cooking, and packaging responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment, and strong attention to detail to meet our operational and quality standards. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to follow directions, and the capacity to multitask effectively during irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Cook will operate various kitchen stations such as the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food preparation areas. In addition to cooking and preparing food items, the Cook is responsible for performing regular cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Responsibilities also include proper disposal of trash, mopping and sweeping floors, washing dishes and kitchen tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food prep surfaces, cleaning equipment, and safely handling used grease.

Additional duties involve reporting any customer or employee concerns to the MOD, moving and stocking food products that may weigh up to 50 pounds, and other related tasks as required. The work environment is physically demanding, involving continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. The Cook must be prepared to work in conditions that expose them to heat from cooking equipment, hot liquids, freezer environments, and variable outdoor temperatures.

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Report customer or employee complaints or issues to MOD
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
