The Cook position at Next Step Healthcare plays an essential role within the food service department, directly impacting the health and satisfaction of the residents. This part-time or full-time role offers competitive sign-on and retention bonuses, with the full-time cook earning a $2,000 bonus and the part-time cook receiving $1,000. The primary duty of the cook is to prepare and cook large quantities of food adhering to specific dietary requirements, menu cycles, and consistency guidelines set forth by the facility. Beyond meal preparation, the cook ensures all food handling, meal service, and equipment cleaning protocols meet federal, state, and departmental regulations, promoting safety and sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen.

- ServSafe certification
- Previous culinary experience preferred

Job Duties
- Read menus and recipes and review meal preparation steps with Food Service Director
- Prepare all necessary menu items according to established standards
- Determine quantity of food needed for meal preparation
- Follow recipes accurately
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, department, and government agency food preparation requirements
- Maintain clean and sanitary condition of supplies and equipment
- Promote a culture of safety
- Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment responsive to co-workers, residents, and families
- Participate in quality improvement activities
