The role of Cook at Glenwood is Full-Time and Non-Exempt, reporting directly to the Vice President of Food Services. The Cook must ensure that all food items meet quality standards related to taste, texture, and appearance while also strictly following nutritional and dietary guidelines tailored for students. Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Minimum education level is a high school diploma or GED
- Current Sanitation Certificate
- No history of child abuse or neglect
Job Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age

- Three years experience in a food service environment preferred
- A certificate from an accredited technical or vocational school for the completion in culinary arts preferred
- Experience working with children and youth preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes and production schedules, ensuring adherence to portion sizes and nutritional guidelines
- Ensure that all cuisine meets quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and appearance
- Monitor food supplies and ingredients, communicating with food service supervisor on stock orders
- Operate all cooking equipment, including all ovens, mixers, steamer, and other small equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and a dedication to continuous quality improvement in all aspects of the position
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to prevent contamination and to ensure food safety
