The Cook role at Guest Services is essential in supporting the culinary team by preparing, cooking, and serving food in line with established recipes, menus, and supervisory guidance. This hourly position offers a compensation of 15.00 USD, aiming to attract individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to contribute to the high standards of food preparation and safety highlighted by the company.
In this role, the Cook is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment and work areas, operating food stations efficiently, and keeping detailed records such as temperature logs and station checklists. Additionally, the Cook assists in inventory management by requisitioning food supplies and kitchen equipment based on anticipated needs, contributing to an economic and sustainable kitchen operation.
Guest Services values strong food safety practices, including maintaining Food Safety certification and rigorous sanitation habits. The Cook is expected to exhibit customer service excellence by proactively supporting both customers and colleagues, quickly identifying and communicating issues to management, and maintaining awareness of safety protocols. Job Requirements
- Partial High School education required
- Ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes and instructions
- Ability to clean and inspect kitchen equipment and work areas
- Ability to operate food station and maintain logs and checklists
- Ability to requisition supplies based on future needs
- Ability to monitor menus and spending for economic meal preparation
- Ability to maintain safety awareness and report issues
- Ability to stand for entire workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in temperature extremes
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- Partial High School education required
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred
- Culinary knowledge
- Food Safety certified
- Strong sanitation habits
- Strong customer service abilities
- Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions
- Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
- Operate food station including performing station checklist, temperature log, counter meeting, and signage
- Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimates of future needs
- Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to the manager
