Job Description

This employment opportunity is for the position of Cook at a dynamic restaurant establishment dedicated to delivering high-quality food products and excellent customer service. As a cook, you will play an essential role in the kitchen, preparing, cooking, and packaging food products while upholding the companys operational and quality standards. The Cook will work under the immediate supervision of the Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring that all policies, procedures, and operational standards are adhered to during their shift. This role involves operating various kitchen stations, including the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations. The Cook will perform cooking and food preparation duties in line with the restaurant's protocols and will have responsibilities that also include maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen. Beyond cooking, the position requires regular cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and utensils, wiping down surfaces, sanitizing prep areas, and managing waste disposal such as trash and grease. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, the role demands a flexible schedule, often including irregular hours, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Moreover, this position is physically demanding, involving continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to variable temperatures, from hot cooking environments to freezers, is common. The candidate must be prepared to meet these physical challenges while maintaining high standards of product quality and customer service. The position calls for effective communication skills, basic math and reading abilities, and the capacity to multitask and follow directions precisely. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Cook, prepare, and package food product pursuant to operational and quality standards
  • Operate dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food prep stations as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease pursuant to operational standards
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Report customer or employee complaints or issues to manager on duty
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
