The Cook role at Mountain West Corral’s Golden Corral location is critical for sustaining the quality and freshness of the Hot Choice Buffet. The Cook is directly responsible for preparing buffet products that meet Golden Corral’s strict recipes and quality guidelines. Duties include grilling, carving, frying, and restocking various hot food items while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. The role demands attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation to ensure that every dish served is flavorful, fresh, and visually appealing. The Cook also plays a vital role in maintaining operational excellence by using production guides, conducting inventory checks, and performing equipment maintenance to guarantee efficiency and compliance with health regulations.

In addition to food preparation, the Cook provides excellent guest service, assisting patrons by ensuring hot food items are always available and answering questions about the food. This position requires working closely with other team members, such as Buffet Attendants and Carvers, and stepping in to help when those roles are unavailable. Cleanliness and sanitation are a high priority, as the Cook is expected to keep the Hot Cook area and equipment clean, adhere to local health department laws, and follow safety protocols. Operational duties also include opening and closing procedures and rotating food items appropriately to prevent spoilage. Job Duties

  • Prepares Hot Choice Buffet products including carving and display cooking products according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures
  • Grills all items according to Golden Corral standards to ensure quality
  • Ensures every fried product is always fresh and hot
  • Restocks items at the Display Cooking Station if Buffet Attendant is unavailable
  • Assists guests with carved meat options if the Carver is unavailable
  • Completes use and follows the buffet production system to insure quality and shelf life compliance
  • Maintains the correct temperature of all products during cooking, holding and serving
