The available role of Cook at Cocopah Casino is an essential position within the culinary team that plays a significant part in ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen services. Under the immediate supervision of the kitchen Lead, the Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food orders efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and handling kitchen equipment with care. This position requires working in a fast-paced setting, adhering strictly to food safety and health regulations, and regularly monitoring temperature and food safety logs to guarantee the highest standards of hygiene and food quality. The Cook will also assist with receiving merchandise and managing stock levels accurately.

As a critical member of the kitchen staff, the Cook must demonstrate a solid knowledge of food preparation techniques along with the ability to work with various kitchen appliances such as grills, fryers, and slicers. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing, walking, stooping, pulling for extended periods, and regularly lifting weights up to 40 pounds. Effective communication skills are essential since the Cook must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Cocopah Casino values candidates who hold a current Health Card or are willing to obtain one, and prefers those with at least a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related work experience in similar kitchen or grill cook positions.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • must have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2-year work experience in a related field, line or grill cook preferred
  • must meet suitability standards set by Cocopah Casino and the Cocopah Indian Tribe
  • must be able to pass a pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol test

Job Qualifications

  • ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
