The position available is a Food Service Cook role within the institution's food production team. This role requires an individual who can work effectively with weekly menus and production sheets by following approved recipes to prepare a wide range of food items. The Food Service Cook will collaborate closely with the Production Supervisor to fulfill daily assignments effectively. The incumbent is expected to support department policies, objectives, and goals by implementing safety, environmental, and infection control standards consistently.
An ideal candidate will be friendly, cordial, reliable, conscientious, and able to follow detailed instructions. The role also requires the ability to organize production schedules efficiently to meet the operation’s demands. Since this position includes repetitive tasks, stamina and focus are necessary to maintain a consistent level of high-quality food service. Good customer relations are essential; the candidate must ensure products are presented attractively in a clean and welcoming environment while responding promptly to requests.
Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training in quantity food preparation and sanitation preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of one year of previous cooking experience within a healthcare facility, institution, or full-service restaurant under the supervision of a qualified chef is required. No licensure, certification, or registration is mandated for this role.
