This role is for a Cook within Aramark’s food services team. The Cook will be an essential part of bringing recipes to life, engaging in food preparation, and contributing creative ideas to enhance culinary offerings. Working in an environment equipped with fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art kitchen equipment, the Cook will use different cooking methods, experiment with cuisines and flavors, and follow production guidelines to ensure quality and safety. This full-time position emphasizes adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols, with a strong focus on teamwork, customer service, and maintaining a positive workplace environment. The Cook will contribute to preparing, cooking, and presenting food while adhering to company policies and security of assets. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods are part of the job, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Ability to follow food safety regulations accurately
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
