Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a prominent leader in the American Chinese dining industry, renowned for its commitment to quality, family values, and exceptional guest experiences. Established in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on fostering a vibrant workplace culture where associates are empowered to improve their lives and contribute meaningfully to the community. Panda Restaurant Group’s mission is deeply rooted in delivering authentic Asian cuisine while ensuring that its employees and customers feel valued, respected, and inspired. This thriving restaurant group emphasizes personal growth, leadership development, and community engagement, making it a top choice for individuals seeking a dynamic and rewarding career in the food service industry. Their commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as adherence to all federal and state regulations regarding workplace accommodations, highlights their dedication to creating an equitable work environment for all associates.
The Cook position at Panda Restaurant Group plays an integral role in the success of its kitchens. As a Cook, you will be the heart of the kitchen, responsible not only for preparing food to precise company standards but also for fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience for guests. This role is perfectly suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working collaboratively with a team, and is passionate about culinary excellence. You will be involved in the full spectrum of back-of-house responsibilities, including supervising and assisting team members, ensuring consistent food quality, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Beyond cooking, you will help train new kitchen team members and contribute to the overall team morale with your leadership and dedication.
This employment opportunity offers flexible schedules, competitive pay ranging between $21 and $24 per hour (dependent on location and experience), and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time associates. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, a 401K plan with company match, paid vacation and sick leave, associate discounts, referral bonuses, and hands-on paid training for career advancement. Panda Restaurant Group values the growth of its employees, offering ongoing leadership development and internal promotion pathways to management positions. The company insists on food safety compliance, requiring local municipality certifications such as Food Handler certification at the applicant’s expense. Physical demands involve standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a hot and noisy kitchen environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Joining Panda means becoming part of a family-oriented company that believes its people are the recipe for success. Employees are encouraged to bring passion to their craft and pride in their workplace, contributing not only to Panda’s culinary achievements but also to the positive impact the organization makes in local communities.
