Job Description

Frontier Senior Living is a prominent senior living management company dedicated to providing thoughtful and compassionate care to elderly residents across the United States. With a strong portfolio of communities, each uniquely crafted to offer superior service and quality lifestyle options, Frontier Senior Living is committed to enriching the lives of seniors by creating vibrant residential environments. The organization emphasizes an inclusive and meaningful experience not only for the residents but also for its team members and community partners. Frontier Senior Living builds its reputation through personalized care, professional service, and a warm, respectful atmosphere that encourages residents to thrive and maintain their independence to the greatest extent possible.

The current opening is for a Cook position located at the Pine Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center community in Spokane Valley, WA. This is a pivotal role in the culinary team where the individual will be responsible for preparing high-quality food tailored to the nutritional needs and preferences of senior residents, particularly those with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory care challenges. The position involves working closely with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that food preparation, presentation, and service meet the highest standards. The Cook will manage the preparation of hot and cold menu items, desserts, soups, salads, and sauces following established recipes and nutrition guidelines essential for senior care.

This role emphasizes compliance with strict health department regulations, safety, and infection control protocols to ensure resident safety and well-being. The Cook also plays a critical role in managing food inventories efficiently and minimizing waste by coordinating leftover usage with the chef. Given the sensitive nature of the environment, the Cook is expected to develop personal connections with residents to better understand their unique dietary needs and preferences, contributing to a more personalized dining experience.

This position offers evening and weekend shifts, specifically Wednesday through Saturday, totaling 38 to 40 hours per week. Frontier Senior Living provides a competitive salary along with a benefits package designed to support employee health and financial security. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a matching program. Employees are encouraged to bring their initiative and professionalism to a team-oriented workplace where respect and collaboration are foundational values. The company also proudly maintains an equal opportunity workplace and a drug-free environment. The Cook role at Pine Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center is ideal for candidates passionate about serving seniors with dignity and compassion through quality food service.
