The current opportunity at the Wyndham Midland Downtown Hotel is for a Cook position. This role is designed for individuals passionate about food preparation and delivering high-quality culinary experiences to guests. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen team by preparing banquet items and food orders in accordance with established function sheets and restaurant standards. You will be responsible for maintaining proper stock levels of menu items, supervising dishwashing activities to ensure utensils meet guest needs, and upholding the kitchen cleanliness at all times. The position also includes duties such as the production of breakfast and performing other tasks as directed by the Executive Chef and General Manager.

This role requires someone dependable who can work the PM shift and is dedicated to maintaining punctuality and strong attendance. The successful candidate will have a food handler's permit, ideally possess formal training in food preparation, and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent. At least one year of food preparation experience is highly desirable to excel in this role.

Job Duties

  • Prepares all banquet items as specified by function sheets
  • Responsible for preparation of all food orders from restaurant
  • Ensures proper stocking line for menu items
  • Supervises dishwasher to ensure adequate utensils are available for guest needs
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen at all times
  • Production of breakfast
  • Performs other duties as requested by Executive Chef and General Manager
