The role of Cook at Bluestone Lane is crucial to maintaining the brand's reputation for premium food products and customer satisfaction. This position is stationed primarily in the kitchen and prep/storage area where the responsibility lies in preparing, cooking, and assembling a wide variety of food products and meals. The Cook must adhere rigorously to established food production processes and health and hygiene standards to ensure exceptional quality and safety. One of the key performance goals for this role includes delivering food orders within a target ticket time of 10 minutes, reinforcing the company's commitment to speed and efficiency without compromising on quality.

In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Cook is expected to be a positive contributor to the team atmosphere, working cohesively with colleagues to foster an exceptional local customer experience. The individual must demonstrate mastery in preparing all menu items according to standard recipes, including accommodating special dietary requests. Additionally, the Cook is tasked with effective communication and collaboration with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and client satisfaction.

Bluestone Lane's Cook is also responsible for food safety practices, such as proper food storage, marking items with dates, and adhering to all regulatory compliance concerning food hygiene. The position requires maintaining a spotless workstation, including equipment like grills, broilers, fryers, ovens, and refrigeration units to support health and safety standards. The Cook plays an integral role in closing kitchen stations appropriately and reporting any shortages or equipment issues to management promptly.

This position requires physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform a variety of manual tasks including bending, kneeling, and pushing or pulling items. The working environment involves exposure to heat, steam, fire, and noise, demanding vigilance and strict adherence to safety protocols. Job Requirements

  • Valid DOH accreditation or Safe Serve certification
  • Minimum one year of prep/line cook experience preferably in high-volume cafe environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Excellent attention to detail

Job Duties
