Job Description
This opportunity is with a senior household seeking dedicated and compassionate assistance in their home kitchen. The household is managed by a senior citizen living with osteoarthritis in the thumbs who still manages to prepare and cook all meals and snacks from scratch. Due to both the individual and her husband's medical conditions, help is needed to ease the burden of meal preparation and cooking.
The role involves supporting the primary cook by performing various kitchen tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, assembling, cooking, and freezing meals, as well as washing pots. These responsibilities aim to lighten the workload and enable the continuation of home-cooked meals despite physical challenges. The kitchen is large and bright, providing a pleasant environment for meal preparation, and the senior cook will be available to assist and guide throughout the tasks.
This is a part-time position, with 1 to 2 workdays per week, each lasting approximately 2 hours. Compensation is $15 per hour, paid in cash. The position is ideal for someone with some cooking experience who can follow recipes and directions carefully. The cooking routine involves rotating through the same set of recipes to maintain consistency and simplicity. This position offers a chance to support a senior citizen in maintaining a healthy, home-cooked diet while contributing to the well-being of a family with special medical needs. The job is perfect for someone who enjoys cooking and kitchen tasks and who wants a part-time role with a manageable schedule and meaningful impact.
