As a global leader in the event and hospitality industry, the company emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and a customer-centric approach to service. Sodexo Live! is not just a workplace but a community where diverse backgrounds and personalities are valued, encouraging employees to bring their individuality and enthusiasm to their roles.
Currently, Sodexo Live! is seeking seasonal, part-time Cooks for the New England Aquarium, an esteemed nonprofit organization dedicated to marine conservation and education for over 50 years. The New England Aquarium is recognized worldwide for its impactful research and public engagement that foster global change related to ocean health and marine animal protection. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $22, dependent on experience, providing a rewarding opportunity to join a team that values quality and customer satisfaction.
The Cook position at Sodexo Live! within the New England Aquarium setting is an entry-level culinary role designed for individuals eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to assist with food preparation duties, which may include grill, prep, or line tasks, all requiring attention to detail, creativity, and adherence to culinary standards. The role involves preparing and coordinating orders to ensure timely delivery with precision and confidence, maintaining high-quality taste and presentation that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
Working as a Cook here means contributing directly to Sodexo Live!'s operational and financial success by strictly following rigorous culinary protocols for food sanitation and preparation. These standards ensure consistent health and safety compliance and uphold the reputation of Sodexo Live! as a leader in delivering superior food services. Moreover, the Cook plays an essential part in achieving 100% customer satisfaction through dedicated service and by setting a positive example for the culinary team.
This position demands adaptability, resilience under pressure, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Employees are expected to function safely in challenging conditions including wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud environments while handling substantial physical activity such as lifting heavy objects and maneuvering in confined kitchen spaces. Shift schedules may vary and can include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of the hospitality industry.
In sum, this Cook role is ideal for candidates seeking an enriching entry into food service within a prestigious venue that blends culinary arts with environmental stewardship. Sodexo Live! provides a supportive workplace with opportunities for growth and learning, alongside the pride of contributing to the mission of a world-class aquarium and conservation organization.
