Legend Senior Living is a distinguished family-owned company with over 30 years of experience in providing exceptional senior living services. Renowned for creating an elegant, supportive environment, Legend Senior Living has earned numerous accolades including the Great Place To Work award for seven consecutive years, the Best of Senior Living Award, and recognition for innovative programming in senior living. The company expands each year by adding multiple new properties and continues to set high standards for quality of service, environment, and care tailored to seniors. At Legend, the focus is on maximizing the potential of every life touched by offering holistic wellness, high-quality Gold Leaf Dining standards, and vibrant life enrichment activities that foster a nurturing community for residents and a rewarding workplace for associates.
The Cook role at Legend Senior Living is a vital part of the culinary team dedicated to enhancing the dining experience of the residents. This position emphasizes preparing nourishing meals made from scratch using fresh ingredients, contributing directly to residents' health and enjoyment. The culinary team at Legend is committed to maintaining the high standards set by Gold Leaf Dining, ensuring an atmosphere and food quality that residents value and appreciate. The work schedule is designed to support an excellent work-life balance, with no late nights and meal preparation aligned with residents’ early dining preferences. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive environment where associates are recognized and valued.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for hands-on cooking and assisting with meal service. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing meals from planned menus, fulfilling special dietary requests, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in food production and service areas. You will be expected to adhere to all food safety regulations, properly label and date food items, and contribute to a hygienic and efficient kitchen environment. Legend Senior Living provides significant support to its associates, including on-the-job training, employee assistance programs, continuing education opportunities, and an appreciative workplace culture with recognition programs like employee of the month and referral bonuses.
Legend Senior Living invests in its employees by offering competitive pay, annual performance evaluations with opportunities for raises, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, voluntary insurance options, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and scholarships. The community is committed to associate growth, promoting hundreds of team members each year to higher positions within the company. This role may require evening and weekend shifts but is designed to provide a positive and balanced work schedule. Applicants should have at least one year of commercial kitchen experience, demonstrate professionalism, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. For individuals passionate about culinary arts and senior care, this position offers a meaningful way to impact lives positively while working in a rewarding, well-respected organization.
