Job Description
Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with close to 2,800 locations globally. This renowned restaurant group prides itself on delivering an exceptional Asian dining experience. The company emphasizes a culture grounded in family values and a commitment to inspiring its employees to improve their lives. Panda Restaurant Group fosters an environment where team members are valued and empowered to grow, making it one of the most recognized and respected brands in the casual dining industry.
As a Panda Cook, you will play a vital role within our team and kitchen operations. This position offers a central role in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where passion for food and customer service excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Working with us means being part of a vibrant team that is dedicated to crafting dishes that meet high standards and deliver memorable experiences to our guests. The role involves preparing all dishes consistently to meet company recipes and standards, supporting and guiding the kitchen team, assisting in their training, and managing back-of-house responsibilities with pride and professionalism.
This role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to contribute to both the quality of our food and the overall ambiance of our restaurants. It requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The position offers flexible schedules and competitive pay ranging from $24 to $27 per hour, varying based on location and experience. Panda Restaurant Group also values development opportunities and provides hands-on paid training, ongoing career and leadership development, and clear pathways for growth into management roles.
In addition to competitive compensation, team members enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time associates, voluntary short-term disability coverage, cancer income protection, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Our associates also receive generous paid time off benefits, including vacation, sick leave, bereavement/funeral leave, and leave share programs. Other perks include free meals while working, associate discounts at various brands, referral bonuses, and opportunities to give back to the community.
Working as a Panda Cook means being a leader in a kitchen environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are paramount. The role demands physical stamina such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy and hot kitchen setting. The job also requires effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and composure. Panda Restaurant Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring all employees are respected and accommodated throughout their employment journey.
